Because the asset can move between physical and digital, a won trophy does more than sit on a shelf. Depending on how an event is run, there are several ways it can reach the winner:

• Route 1 — Physical, then exchange: the organiser hands over the physical crystal on stage. Later the winner onboards it to the vault and receives the tokenized twin to trade or integrate.
• Route 2 — Direct digital gift: once the infrastructure is live, the prize may be gifted straight to the winner as its digital twin at the event. No physical handling is needed. They can redeem the physical precious metal whenever they want.

Either way, a tradeable token can also serve as prize money: as a liquid precious-metal asset, the winner can hold it, integrate it, or trade it for value.

Whichever route, the winner ends up with a real precious-metal asset they can keep, display, trade, or one day even see integrated into games and other solutions across the MetaMetals infrastructure. We create a trophy which is a living asset with genuine worth behind it.

Bars and other MetaMetals can also be personalised and serve as a custom eSports trophy. As an example, custom engraving of sponsor logos, event details or other wishes can be added. That’s also valid for our digital twins, where custom metadata can be added to mark a special event.
