Ordering & Buying

In many EU countries, including Austria and Germany, there is a registration requirement when purchasing precious metals above certain value thresholds. MetaMetals adheres to all mandatory legal requirements. Anonymous purchases are only possible below the legal thresholds.
Some precious metals can be purchased in Germany and Austria with tax advantages through duty-free warehouses or differential taxation. For business purchases, contact us with your VAT number.

No. There is no minimum order value at MetaMetals.
Above certain order values, Austrian and EU-wide anti-money-laundering (AML) rules require identity verification before the order is processed. Some higher-value products — such as rhodium or iridium bars and precious metal sets — can already exceed these thresholds by default. The verification process is straightforward and we guide you through it personally. This is a legal requirement, not a MetaMetals policy.
Shipping & Delivery

We ship to all EU countries, the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Switzerland, Japan, Australia, and Singapore. Fully insured.
Delivery of in stock product can take 7-14 working days, but they can also ship faster. Some products are made on demand and therefore take longer to produce and deliver. You can find the info on the product pages.
Yes. All MetaMetals shipments are fully insured.
Bars are delivered in sturdy plexiglass display boxes or floating frames. Crystals come in impact-resistant gel packaging or an elegant black presentation box. The packaging type depends on the product’s shape and weight.
You will receive email updates at every step — from order confirmation to dispatch. After shipping, you’ll receive a tracking number from the shipping service provider.
Products & Materials

All MetaMetals products are fully processed and certified safe for direct handling. Sintered bars and grown crystals pose no health risk. Only unprocessed raw powder — which MetaMetals does not sell — would require special handling.
Guaranteed minimum 99.95%. Each piece comes with a certificate of authenticity confirming purity, weight, and serial number.
Store bars and crystals in a dry, secure location — a home safe or bank deposit box is recommended. Processed precious metal bars and crystals are not susceptible to corrosion under normal conditions. For larger holdings, specialized storage facilities with insurance coverage are available.

Platinum group metals like osmium, iridium, and rhodium are not traded on public exchanges. Pricing reflects refinery supply, processing quality, and current demand. See our price pages for current pricing.

Physical precious metals are generally tax-free on disposal after a one-year holding period. Gold may be exempt from VAT under certain conditions. For other metals, VAT applies on purchase. MetaMetals does not provide tax advice — consult your tax advisor.
Our reference price is based on a 1 oz bar — the internationally recognised standard unit. Smaller bars cost more per gram due to higher production costs per piece, while larger bars cost less. When comparing offers, always compare the same bar size.

MetaMetals is building a peer-to-peer marketplace with escrow, expert verification, and insured shipping — for all precious metal products. It is still under development, but MetaMetals products will be eligible when it ships.
