What makes MetaMetals earrings unique

Every MetaMetals earring begins with a piece of crystalline osmium — the densest naturally occurring element and one of the rarest precious metals on earth. The osmium crystal is grown during the CVT crystallisation process, producing a surface geometry so complex it is physically impossible to replicate. This means each pair carries centrepieces that are verifiably unique.

Our earrings are handcrafted in Austria by experienced goldsmiths who specialise in working with platinum-group metals. The crystals are set by hand in 14K gold using bezel settings designed to showcase the osmium's distinctive blue-silver shimmer while keeping the crystals secure for daily wear. Each pair is individually selected — the two earrings complement each other while remaining subtly distinct.
